A Pleasant Dog is pleased to provide service dog training to clients with a wide variety of disabilities including without limitation: autism, epilepsy, hearing loss, PTSD, and balance and mobility issues. As a mother to a child on the autism spectrum, Jenn has a unique perspective many service dog trainers may not have. Brittany is herself a Type 1 diabetic.
A Pleasant Dog assists in the location and selection of purebred service dog puppies from reputable breeders. We can sometimes train the family dog to act in a service dog capacity, but it is almost always best to start with a dog selected by our staff in service dog training directly.
Service dog training typically involves an expense of approximately $10,000, payable in installments over a period of 12-24 months, with a $2000 down payment to be paid upon commencement of the training relationship. The cost of the dog or puppy is in addition to our fee. Once training is complete, periodic tune-up sessions may be necessary from time to time to keep the dog’s performance at its optimal level.
A Pleasant Dog is a for profit Limited Liability Company and therefore does not have donor dollars to assist in funding. However, our fees for training are as low as we can possibly keep them to cover our out-of-pocket costs for training.
