New Class: Predation Substitute Training (PST): 4-Week Intensive Program

Predation Substitute Training (PST): 4-Week Intensive Program

Predation Substitute Training (PST) is a comprehensive, force-free anti-predation training program designed to help you successfully manage and redirect your dog’s natural hunting instincts in safe, healthy, and rewarding ways. Developed by dog trainer and author Simone Mueller, PST offers a practical, science-based approach that delivers real-life results, without the use of force, fear, or punishment.

This 4-week class provides a structured, supportive environment where you will learn how to work with your dog’s instincts instead of against them. Through engaging exercises and practical strategies, you’ll gain the tools you need to confidently manage predatory behaviors such as chasing wildlife, fixating on moving objects, lunging, or ignoring recall cues outdoors.

What You’ll Learn:

PST is built on four equally important parts:

1. Management and Prevention
Learn how to prevent unwanted predatory behaviors before they happen. We’ll cover leash skills, environmental setup, trigger awareness, and safety strategies that set your dog up for success.

2. Predation Substitute Tools
Discover how to channel your dog’s natural instincts into appropriate outlets. You’ll be introduced to structured activities and tools that satisfy your dog’s need to chase, search, and grab, without reinforcing unwanted behaviors.

3. Predation Substitute Games
Engage your dog’s brain and body through games designed to mimic the predatory sequence in a safe, controlled way. These games build focus, impulse control, and cooperation while keeping training fun and rewarding.

4. Interruption of Predatory Behavior
Learn effective, force-free interruption techniques that allow you to safely redirect your dog when arousal levels rise. You’ll develop clear communication signals that work even in stimulating environments.
